For patients with any life-threatening illness: Volunteers will drive to/from doctor's appointments, radiation, chemotherapy. 24 hour notice is necessary. Patients may call directly to enroll in service which is free of charge.

Clients must first register with Monterey Salinas Transit; Approval is needed to enroll in program; process takes approximately three weeks. Van that accommodates wheelchairs is available for medical appointments. Clients may book rides as much as 14 days in advance, with a minimum of 24 hours notice. Van does not offer same day service, even in emergencies.

Rides Reimbursed Taxi Program Some clients prefer to use a taxi; RIDES passengers can get partial reimbursement. After paying the taxi driver, client must get complete receipt. RIDES will reimburse one-half of the fare, or a maximum of $45 per month.
Veteran's Van Service
